What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic approach that supports the mind and body’s natural ability to heal from painful or distressing experiences. In my practice, it is guided by a person-centred philosophy that honours each individual’s story, pace, and strength. Through gentle, structured techniques such as eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps to process memories that may feel “stuck,” reducing their emotional intensity and allowing new meaning and balance to emerge.
Grounded in trust, empowerment, and respect, EMDR sessions emphasize open communication, active listening, and empathy. This process creates space for validation and connection, fostering a sense of safety and self-determination throughout the healing journey.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT helps individuals explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. In my approach, CBT is not about “fixing” thoughts, but about understanding them with curiosity and compassion. Together, we work to recognize patterns that may no longer serve you and develop new ways of thinking and responding that feel more aligned with your values and strengths. Rooted in trust and validation, CBT invites self-awareness and empowerment as pathways toward balance and emotional wellbeing.

What is DBT?

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT focuses on building emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. In my practice, DBT is offered through a lens of empathy, respect, and collaboration. It emphasizes learning practical skills while also acknowledging and honouring your lived experience. Through open communication and active listening, we work together to cultivate balance—accepting where you are in this moment while supporting growth and change in ways that feel safe and authentic.

What is ACT?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT encourages a gentle acceptance of life’s challenges while strengthening commitment to one’s core values. Through mindful awareness and self-compassion, ACT helps create space for difficult emotions rather than struggling against them. In our sessions, we explore what truly matters to you, nurturing resilience and purpose through trust, validation, and shared understanding. The goal is not to eliminate pain, but to move forward with a deeper sense of connection, presence, and peace.

What is EEFT?

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy

EFFT supports healing and connection within family relationships by helping each member understand and express their emotions more openly and safely. In my practice, this work is grounded in empathy, active listening, and the belief that each person’s voice holds value. Through guided conversations and emotional attunement, families learn to strengthen trust, repair patterns of disconnection, and foster a renewed sense of belonging and care.
